Colin Land
He joined the commercial world at the age of 25 (late in life!). After three years of angst, and learning the ropes in sales and sales management with a large insurance company, he moved on to a large subsidiary company (£125m t.o.) within the BET group.
His first role in this service company was as a Training Officer where he analysed training needs and delivered training seminars on a number of subjects including customer care, telephone and basic sales skills, advanced negotiating skills, and team building and management. Field coaching in these important areas was a vital part of his function, for both on the job coaching and training evaluations. After three successful years, he moved back into sales Management with the same company where he was progressively promoted to National Sales Manager.
In 1988 he became Promotions Executive responsible for new product and service introductions, PR, national meetings, launches, incentive schemes, brochures and sales aids. During this time he wrote, presented and organised presentations to BET Group Companies with audiences in excess of 400 delegates.
During 1990 he joined the OCS Smarts Group as Sales and Marketing Director where he successfully re-organised and trained the sales function, up dated and introduced new services which led them to unparalleled levels of sales.
Early in 1995 he joined the Spearhead Training Group tutor team and since that time has run a range of Spearhead Training's "open" training courses along with bespoke in-house training programmes for clients across a wide range of industies.
Colin is an excellent 'peoples' communicator, with a showman's flair in a colourful style, and inspires others to act.
